Meatless

Yesterday, Ashley declared that she is a vegetarian. Suddenly, she can't stand the thought of eating an animal. While Mark and I are, and more than likely always will be "meat eaters", I find this interesting and I fully support her in this "endeavor" It's so fun watching this little lady change and grow. (We'll see how long she can keep it up) :)

I'm so glad she didn't go vege on me last week! More power to her. There are alot of great options out there and we could all stand to eat less meat though I have to say I loved the briket your dad made tonight! Love Ruthie

I still tell the story of how my dad laughed at me when I was in...10th grade I think...and told him I wanted to be a vegetarian. That was all it took! I lasted around 7 years I think? Then eased back w/first just ckn and fish, then all the way. Good for you for supporting her-it may be a "phase", may not. Time will tell!

It may help to know that this was brought upon by Ashley's visit to her friend Ciara's house where they are keeping a "pet" steer appropriately named T-Bone until such a time when he's fattened up. You can guess what happens after that. Well, Ashley could not bear the thought of eating a pet, so here we are - parents to a vegetarian. I went through a similar phase when I was 4-5, but it was for totally different reasons, not that I can remember them. So, I fully support her and will make bean tacos and extra veggies for as long as she wants them.

This is Big Daddy's posting: I told him to do it but he says 'I don't "post"' Big Daddy said he wished he had known that last week when he bought all those Crab Legs for his vegetarian granddaughter!
